Or, You tried to stab me!

loreify.ai session notes

Session Summary

The party continued their exploration of the vast library basement beneath Dr. Etward Ritalson’s manor. After securing the Great Hall, Shylock performed a consultation with the spirits and confirmed that no more daemons guarded the immediate area.

The group discovered a specialized library containing notes on ‘The Guest’—a mummified hand Ritalson is regrowing into a body—and his obsession with the entity Osoyo and the Dreamlands. They also discover notes about a ‘sending’ named Ogmunzorius. Moving deeper into the basement the party discovers a cistern, out of which climbed two Arctic Blooms- large predatory plants from the Crown of the World. Sammakko utilized powerful dragonblood magic, Shylock threw alchemical bombs, while Hector provided heavy frontline support. Following the plant encounter, they discovered headless bodies in the pit the plants climbed out of, and more prison cells complete with a desperate message from a former Gatewalker urging the death of Ritalson.

After tending their wounds, the party continued down a set of stairs to an abandoned workshop, where they faced invisible Air Elementals (Phades) that had been ‘inveigled’ into service. Sammakko used ‘See the Unseen’ to bypass their invisibility and Shylock countered the Phades quieting effects, allowing Hector to dissipate the spirits and uncover diagrams for a complex three-door locking mechanism.

Library Notes

The Nameless Spires: Etward’s notes detail how he’s come to believe that he made an expedition to the Nameless Spires during his Missing Moment, and how he’s concluded that, if he can return there and dream in the Spires’ vicinity, he will be granted entry into the Dreamlands and discover a method to significantly enhance the psychic gifts he gained from Osoyo (or hopes to steal from his Gatewalker victims).

Ogmunzorius: The discovery of a strange hand found in his belongings pales against Etward’s discovery of a strange presence within his laboratory—an entity named Ogmunzorius. Etward theorizes that Ogmunzorius is a “sending” from Osoyo’s dreams, and takes the entity’s presence as proof that he is some sort of “chosen one” intended to release Osoyo from its prison in return for even greater mental powers and, perhaps, the key to reaching the Dreamlands. The notes also mention how Ogmunzorius assisted Etward in conjuring guardians for the laboratory, but notes that these creatures were “untrustworthy” and that Etward further ensured their compliance with inveigle rituals.
