Book 1: The Seventh Arch
Chapter 2: Thin Air
The party is in the real Thin Lands, in the first world, and everything seems drained of color and twisted. Shylock realizes they are in Nighthold and that there are risks of incursions into the other world. Shadow is stronger and light powers are weaker.
Exploring, the group comes across a huge tree with a bird creature next to a door and a lit paper lantern. The creature is an Oculai Gorga, one of the Gorga creatures of this land, according to Kalathel. A strange displacement/confusion effect seems to be in force in the place and creatures seem to move in unintended directions when they move. The Gorga also attacks with horrible visions causing psychic damage. Sammakko threw the lantern into the Gorga which smashed it, releasing the fairies and plunging the area into darkness. By lighting the area with bright light they were able to move as intended, attacking the Gorga and finally defeating it.
Entering the door, the group sees a room decorated in teeth and in which stands a lanky humanoid monster statue. While investigating, a swarm of toothfairies attack! After a quick battle Shylock finds 4 gold teeth and Sammokko bursts into the room to the east.
The room is is spacious and is lit by larvae inside of skulls. Two doors lead off of the north corridor in the room, one to the west and one to the north. Captain Salah, a centaur, and a metal augur greet the group unpleasantly. Salah has a cloak of carnivorous leaves and her psychokiller tendencies attracted the augur. After she was slain her cloak was claimed by Kalathel. Shylock helped provide first aid to himself and Sammakko.
The group continues through the west door into a gallery detailing Kaneepo’s history. The last painting shows the party at the 7th gate with Kaneepo looking on from a distance smiling at them. When checked the paintings are magical which are created from light and chemicals by the Lightweavers from the shadow realm.
Through the door to the NW has another portrait of Kaneepo with elves beneath his feet. There are canvases being stretched and stored pigments. A nest of blankets is in the NW corner. Kalathel finds two bioluminescence bombs in the blankets (which can also be used as paint).
